AERATION FOR HEALTHY TURF

Aeration is a crucial element of any sports turf maintenance program. A well-aerated surface promotes more even ball roll, consistent footing, and reduced risks of injuries to players. Heavy usage combined with long periods of dry weather can cause soil compaction and sealed surfaces. Preventing air, water, and nutrients to reach the turf’s root zone.

Aeration is simply piercing the soil to create holes in the soil structure so air can penetrate and water can freely drain. Healthy turf needs good deep roots, which depend on an open soil structure. Regular aeration relieves compaction and opens up the pores between the soil particles.
