Sarel-Rolling – a quick and effective way to prevent surface sealing
When it comes to maintaining pristine golf greens and sports turf, aeration is key. A highly effective tool for promoting optimal turf health is the Sarel-Roller. This indispensable piece of equipment is designed to prevent surface sealing and enhance the penetration of air, water, and nutrients, ensuring a healthy and resilient playing surface.
Surface sealing occurs when the top layer of soil becomes compacted, limiting the movement of essential elements to the root zone. The Sarel-Roller rectifies this by puncturing the surface with small, precise holes. This simple yet effective process creates pathways for air, water, and nutrients to reach deeper into the soil, promoting healthier and more resilient turf.
Year round benefit
Greenkeepers and groundsmen use a wide range of different aeration equipment including turf slitters, deep tiners, and hollow corers, to do specific tasks at different times of the year. Sarel-Rollers are particularly versatile in that their gentle action leaves the turf smooth and playable enabling them to be used at any time of year.
Another significant advantage of Sarel-Rollers is their ease of use, and the different power units that can operate them. They can be fitted either as a set of three Thatch-Away Cassette Units onto a greensmower, or as a single Tractor Mounted Sarel-Roller on a compact tractor. For larger areas such as golf course fairways, the Multi-Sarel has three Sarel-Rollers which fold out hydraulically to a massive 5.4m working width.
Agronomists agree
Agronomists agree that Sarel-Rolling is an excellently beneficial treatment, which you can hardly do too much of. Like all living organisms, grass needs to breathe, feed, and drink to survive!
